The all NEW Lensun Ultrathin Folding Solar Panel Range is revolutionising the 12V portable solar panel market.

Constructed from A-Grade Monocrystalline Solar Cells, ETFE textured film and a 17mm lightweight aluminium frame, Lensun has created an exceptional solar panel that are designed to travel anywhere with you.

The Frame:

(1)They are hail-proof and shockproof, making them the perfect solar companion on the toughest Aussie tracks.
(2)They are 100% weatherproof, including the pre-wired (and bypassable) PWM solar controller mounted on the back of the panel, meaning you can leave them out no matter what the weather. (Note, we offer MPPT solar controller too, if you want to change to MPPT solar controller just contact us)
(3)They are constructed with stainless steel and aluminium fittings which means you never have to worry about rust.
(4)They feature a smart-magnet system to keep your panel closed without the need for bulky latches.
(5)They are constructed using a 1.2mm fibreglass, heat resistant PCB backing to ensure the solar panels remain strong and are resistant to sagging over time.

ETFE Film

The panels feature an ETFE textured film compared to alternate panels that use PET films.
Why is ETFE superior to PET?

ETFE solar panels have a better light penetration percentage of 95% and contain fluorine atoms which bond to the EVA layer of the panel, ensuring it will never delaminate or discolour as time passes.
The textured finish of ETFE solar panels makes them dirt resistant and self-cleaning, minimising the impact on solar output.

Why is ETFE superior to PET?

Combination

Ultra lightweight and durable. The combination between ETFE and back sheet is much stronger than PET.

Combination of PET and back sheet cracks easily, is not durable, and also not waterproof.

Thicknes(mm)

Includes a 0.025mm thin, UV resistant, layer of protection. Total thickness less than 0.1mm.

0.15mm thick. Solar cells break easily due to low hardness.

Light transmission

95% transparency offers excellent efficiency in terms of light to electricity conversion.

90% to 93% transparent results in lower efficiency in terms of light to electricity conversion.

Surface adhesion

ETFE has non-adhesive surface properties. Highly stain-resistant and easily gets cleaned by the rain.

Adhesive surface often gets covered with dust or other debris, significantly affecting the output of solar panel.

Lifetime

Lifetime of 10 years. Resists aging, deteriorates slowly.

Lifetime of at most 5 years. Easily forms air pockets and peels off.

Corrodibility

Highly resistant to seawater corrosion.

Not acid and alkali resistant, making it totally unsuitable for use in marine environment.

Flammability

Highly flame retardant. Suitable for use in temperatures ranging from -65°C to +150°C. Can be installed safely in hot climates.

Not suitable for use in high temperature regions due to short-term heat resistance.

Applicative effects

Absorbs sunlight. Does not reflect it.

Reflects a large amount of sunlight, producing glare and creating traffic risks to cars and airplanes.

 

Backsheet

Made of high quality Black Fiberglass back sheet which is much lighter than the traditional glass back sheet. This material also combines better with ETFE film than plastic back sheet, which other panels frequently contain.

The Solar Controller:

The included waterproof 10A PWM Solar Controller with anderson style plugs can be connected directly to AGM, Lead Acid, Gel & Calcium batteries.

The Extras:

They come in a high quality, heavy duty carry bag with YKK zips.
They pack down smaller than most metal frame solar panels on the market and weigh over 50% less!
